International Women’s Day

Happy International Women’s Day!

It seems fitting this year that it falls on a Saturday, a traditional day of rest. And I am taking it as such. I’m not marching, I’m NOT watching the news, I’m not going near Twitter/X.

You might be asking… why?

Pretty simple. I’m tired. I’ve been fighting most of my adult life – first, to be in the room; then, for a seat at the table; then, a seat at the head of the table (if they won’t give you one, make your own); and, most recently (through StartupChicks, She Hustles and WEI), to bring a lot of other women into the room and encourage them to take the seat at the head of the table.

I’d like to honor those women that came before me, and fought for our right to vote (1920), for our right to have our own bank accounts (1974), and for our right to own our own businesses (1988).

Rest my friends. The fight continues on Monday!
